Held on the last Sunday of July (as is the tradition with San Francisco's major leather and kink events (as well as LGBTIQ pride), Dore Alley (officially called Up Your Alley) is Folsom's raunchier, kinkier cousin. In 2026, Dore Alley will be on Sunday July 26th between 11AM and 6PM (you can check out the official website for some additional details.
Dore Alley is probably my favorite event (at the very least, it's my favorite local event), better than Folsom in many respects because, for example, you can wear all your gear and be seen, yet there aren't so many people that you can't move through the crowd (unless you arrive after 2PM or so, in which case, you're kinda screwed, I'm sorry to say. Also, be aware that Dore is more gay male focused than Folsom, but all genders and sexualities are welcomed.
PonyRoper and I decided to get a booth last year (2025) and are planning on doing the same this year. Our purpose in getting a booth was (and still is) to recruit new human ponies and human pony trainers via exposure and outreach. To that end, at the booth we intend to:
- Have erotic ponyplay art for sale
- Sell patches, t-shirts, and art related to pony play
- Have some live pony play demos:
- Grooming the human pony
- Tacking up the human pony
- And, my least favorite (and unsurprisngly one of PonyRoper's favorites): treadmill training and generous use of the crop.
Dore Alley is held in the SoMa district of San Francisco, centered around the intersection of Folsom Street and Dore Alley.
