Pony Play in 2014

This year seems to have flown by rather quickly. With less than a week to the new year, I thought it might be interesting to look back at 2014.

On the retail side of all things pony, Fetish Universe has discontinued their awesome, hot-looking human sized saddle. Similarly, Wild West Leather no longer seems to sell their beautiful human pony harness.

Conversely, over the last 12 months, Fleet Ilya has expanded their pony and animal role play line (though much to my chagrin, they have not restarted production of their saddle), while Locked for Infinity has made available the intricate, awesome JG Leathers harness.

Also on the positive side of the equipment availability ledger, I've noticed a few more cool artisans selling hoof boots and other pony gear on etsy, ebay, and elsewhere. It also looks as though Pony Play Ranch will start making leather pony/horse masks in the near future.

Earlier this year, Sir Jeff announced that he's retiring and won't be updating his awesome ponygirl website any longer. Fortunately he will keep the site online, so it will continue to be a great resource, while its creator will get to enjoy a much deserved retirement.

On a much sadder note, Trigger (The Human Equine), died near the end of this year. He has been a big part of the pony play community over the years, and he will be missed.

Personally, I found my play a little stangant this year, but I did have the opportunity to attend several BDSM events and pride parades, and I even went to my very first human fox hunt (the norcal fox hunt).

I also started experimenting with making some equipment this year, and I've had some success with starting to build hoof boots modeled after the Reactor boots and creating a customized bit. I'm hoping to do more of this in the year to come: I have quite a few ideas I want to turn into reality in 2015.

Looking forward to the year ahead, I also hope to attend even more events. In addition to the usual array of street fairs and pride parades, I have my eye on the ponies, puppies, and perves event in Lousiana in March as well as pony camp at The Farm in mid September, and of course, I'm planning on going to the Northern California fox hunt again in October.

I'd also really love to attend the pony play championships in Florida this coming May, but it's held at the same time as the Kentucky Derby, which I'm planning to attend, so I probably won't be able to make it unfortunately.

Neverthess, I had an enjoyable 2014, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of my ponyside in the year to come.

I hope 2014 has found you well and that your 2015 will be even better. Have a Happy New Year, and I'll see you in 2015!
