Where To Buy Ponyplay Saddles
Purchasing Ponyplay Tack: Saddles for the Human Pony

A little while ago I did a post on where to buy pony play bridles. Today I am going to do the same thing with saddles.
When adding links to the list below, I did not discriminate based on whether or not a saddle is merely eye candy, or superbly capable of handling and properly distributing a rider's weight. If the latter is important to you, please contact the retailer before ordering and ask that question.
As with all of these lists, it is in no particular order:
- Fleet Ilya- The beautiful Fleet Ilya human pony saddle is back in production. At around £1700, it is on par with a mid end bio-horse saddle pricewise and in line with most high end human pony gear. Fleet Ilya's saddle is elegantly designed with a sleek, finished look. It is available in black, brown, and "natural" leather coloration with silver, brass, gold plated, and silver plated hardware as options (I'm assuming the first "silver" is likely nickel steel if silver plated is an option).
- Fae Thin - Better known for their wide variety of animal role play tails (available in plug and clip on varieties), they also sell a mini saddle (note that the saddle is just meant for aesthetics is not designed to be weight bearing) that includes stirrups with irons for €275. or just the stirrup belt for €55.
- Fantasy Leather - From the makers of the beautiful Fantasy Leather pony harness, comes this wonderful saddle for all fours play for £250. I have not purchased nor tried their saddle, so I cannot speak to any of its characteristics, but I have purchased a few items from Fantasy Leather over the years, and I was more than happy with the quality of the products I received (including one body harness). Their prices are also quite reasonable.
- Birch Place Shop - A padded leather saddle at quite a reasonable price. Their saddle is available in several different colors and even comes with a nice leather tassel tail!
- Water Hole Custom Leather - Buck has restarted his shop, but I am not sure if he is willing to start production of his saddle again. His saddle was well made and designed to be fully functional and not just for aesthetics. If you are interested in a saddle for actual human pony riding, I would suggest emailing Buck. He does not have an ecommerce site per se - that is, he does not have items in stock, a shopping cart system, etcetera. Instead, Buck has switched to solely custom ordering, so regardless of what you order from him you will need to send him an email, so why not inquire about a saddle when buying a bridle from him?
Historical Retailers of Pony Play Saddles
As I mention on my other links pages, I recently made the decision to keep old websites and retailers that are now offline in my list of links in a separate section and direct the links to the Internet Archive's snapshot of that site, when available (and removing the link but leaving the description when no snapshots are available in the Internet Archive). I believe there is still a wealth of excellent information to be accessed thanks to the site's creator(s) and the Internet Archive.- Lederstern - This saddle looks like a modified bio-horse (English) saddle for two legged ponies. Although I am not 100% sure about whether or not this can safely carry the weight of a rider, the support scaffold for the saddle that is pictured on the page looks like it was built precisely for that purpose. Although on the pricier side in an absolute sense, if it really is designed for two legged riding, it is actually quite reasonable. As of mid to late 2017, Lederstern no longer sells any pony gear online, but you can see how their saddle looked courtesy of the Internet Archive. It retailed for €1150.
- Stormy Leather - While this saddle seems a little simplistic for its price, the product description promises the ability to easily attach a dildo to the saddle for the rider's convenience. When I first started really getting into pony play and looking for tack designed specifically for the human form, this was the first saddle that I stumbled across. I can still remember how mesmerized I was when I first saw it - and how very badly I wanted it. After their purchase by Stockroom, Stormy Leather, which had had an online prescence since the mid 1990s in addition to their amazing boutique one block up from the entrance to the Folsom Street Fair, slowly wound down their retail operations, including selling items like their bridle and this saddle, which were generally made to order. However, you can see how the saddle looked courtesy of the internet archive.
- S-Art - This looks like a bio-horse saddle with the tree removed, so it probably fits comfortably on the human back. They also sold a synthetic leather saddle, which says it "fits the human back perfectly". However, it also looks like a bio-horse saddle - you may wish to check with them before ordering since you can easily buy an inexpensive synthetic leather saddle from many bio-horse tack shops for less money. Sadly S-Art has closed their online shop for now (it is unclear if it will reopen to retail customers), but their physical location appears to be open by appointment. Regardless, I would contact them beforehand if interested in purchasing from them or visiting their brick and mortar location.
- Restriction Wear - This looks more like a harness than a saddle, but I can't tell for certain due to the angle of the photos. Since they call it a harness/saddle, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt for the purpose of this list, but I would definitely ask to see additional photos to confirm it is indeed a saddle with a place for a rider to sit before ordering. Similarly to several of the other artisans on this list, Restrictionwear has closed their doors (both online and in person), and is no longer making or selling any human gear. The person behind Restrictionwear is one of the most talented designers and leatherworkers I have ever known, and I am sad to see him go. You can see some of his products courtesy of the Internet Archive.
- Dominity Shop - A nice padded four legged riding saddle for ponyboys. Thanks for letting me know about this one humanpony! Dominity shop has since stopped selling their saddle, and all gear whatsoever unfortunately.
- Marquis - Unfortunately, they have discontinued their human pony saddle. Sad to see it go :(
Even if you're just window shopping, it's nice to know what's out there.
Sorry guys for coming up a little short on this list, but I really could not find many commercially available pony play saddles. In fact, I found nearly as many pony carts as I did saddles. While carting is probably more common than actual riding, it's still a little surprising considering how much more expensive pony carts are compared to saddles. This started off with seven retailers in late 2012, expanded to nearly a dozen at its peak, then shrunk to only four in 2024. Hopefully, we will witness an emergence of new craftspeople who will show us their varuation on a classic piece of tack.
If you know of other retailers of pony play saddles not listed above, please do contact me, and I'll be more than happy to include them on the list so other ponies can easily find them.
