Review of "Pony 2 Girl", an Erotic Movie by Elegance Studios

Today, I'm going to review "Pony 2 Girl", a movie by Elegance Studios. It's availble in 1080p HD from their online store, and the trailer for the movie hooked me as soon as I saw one of the ponygirls being gagged with a nice long tongue bit.

This movie is actually a sequel to their earlier "Ponygirl" movie, starring Ariel Anderssen, who has also appeared numerous times on petadnponygirls.com (which is sadly now no longer around) in both photo and videos. I saw the trailer for their earlier movie, but I have not as yet purchased the movie, but from the reading blurb about the first and second movies, and watching the second, I feel like I have enough background to understand the plot.

Before I delve into the details, let me say that overall I really liked this movie. It incorporated brilliant costuming and equipment, some of which, such as the tongue bits, I have not seen anywhere outside of my own personal play. My major complaint was that the girls' behavior and degree of bondage were perfectly aligned with the story. Either the story or the bondage and behavior of the captives needs to be adapted for it to come together perfectly.

Let me explain.

In nearly all movies, we're politely asked to suspend a certain degree of disbelief. The extent depends on the movie, and our willingness depends on how compelling the story is. In Pony 2 Girl, there is a huge amount of disbelief to suspend, but there is also a huge payout in doing so. The costuming of the ponygirls was superb: the harnesses, created by Fantasy Leather, were gorgeous.

Let's start out with a brief synopsis - spoiler alert! I'm going to discuss plot points as part of this review (most of which are already spoiled in the released trailer and in Elegance Studios' blog post promoting the video, but if you want to go in fresh, please stop reading now).

In the previous movie, Ariel was captured and started her transformation into a forced ponygirl. This movie starts off with Ariel being put through her paces outdoors by a female trainer. She's harnessed in a lovely black (with red highlights) ponygirl harness by Fantasy Leather (I was so enamored with the look that bought one exactly like it). She's also outfitted with Darby style metal cuffs, and, much to my pleasure, a spoon bit in her mouth (with the larger of the two plates actually in her mouth, contrary to other videos which have the smaller, less severe plate in the pony's mouth).

My only negative comments about the opening scene are that her trainer is leading her by a chain attached to a ring on her harness instead of via reins attached to her bit (the lack of control of this method is especially apparent when the trainer walks behind Ariel with the leash falling off to one side. It's clear that Ariel is running this scene with the leash doing lip service to the trainer's supposed control and direction), and that the bit does not appear to be held very snug in her mouth - I can see the bit rings sagging a bit to either side of her head, and while she may or may not be holding the bit in her mouth with her jaws, the bit looks as though it could be easily dislodged by her with a quick flick of her tongue.

These are relativeky minor points, but they detract a little from the realism of the scene, especially since she is ostensibly being forced to perform her training.

I have give them major props for using some great costuming and equipment. Aside from the gorgeous harnesses, created by Fantasy Leather, the use of a spoon bit and the even more severe WTP tongue bits - with straps color coordinated to the ponys' harnesses - made for several incredibly hot scenes. Anyone who has worn such bits knows how uncomroftable it can be to feel the metal pressing far back into your mouth, causing you to drool uncontrollably while periodically stimulating the gag reflex. While the bits weren't especially secure (you can see the middle point of the bit sticking out about an inch - while this may be secure enough to prevent it being pushed out, it was a bit too loose for my liking. The entire bit should be behind the front teeth).

Moreover, the use of blackout contact lenses was incredibly hot, and something I expect to be emulated in other videos. Up to now, few fetish films employed these wonderful devices that blind the wearer more effectively than a blindford while leaving their appearence only minorly altered.

However, this ingenuity was stymied by the simple fact that either girl could have easily pulled the bit from her mouth, or failing that, unbuckled it and let it fall to the cold stone floor, since the hands were bound comfortably in front of them and they had full use of their fingers.

Perhaps this is a minor point, but it was something that immediately sprang to mind when I first watched the scene. My mind was screaming, "why don't you just unbuckle the bits!"

Similarly, they complain about their captors overzealously tightening all their restaints, but their cuffs are clearly locked on extremely loosely, and the chains around their necks look as though they could be pulled off over the heads with only a modicum of effort. I'm not sure if this is intentional self-parody on the part of the director or if the viewer is actually expected to believe the bondage depicted is severe/stringent. I sincerely hope it is the former.

For example, at one point, one of the ponies remarks "what's this," referring to the tongue bit. As putative equestrainnes, it's unrealisitic that they would not recognize a simple horse bit.

Based solely on the behavior of the characters and the setting and costuming fo the film, the plot should be more along the lines of two girls who willingly signed up for ponygirl training (or were perhaps reluctantly signed up for training) and are finding it a bit more than they bargained for. To make the kidnapping/forced aspect beliavable, the cast would really need to perform on a much higher level, putting on a real show of resisting being trained and realisticaly trying to escape. Moreover, the bondage would have to be such that they couldn't simply remove it. Their complete and utter lack of resistance or attempts (that would likely have been succesful, which is perhaps why they were not made) to free themselves of their bondage was a bit too hard for me to swallow given the kidnapping premise.

Obviously, the motivation of the captors was thin at best, but that I can easily put aside and enjoy the costuming and plight of the unwilling ponygirls. However, what spoiled the story for me was the ease with which the ponygirls submit. From the story, these girls were taken against their will to be transformed into ponygirls. However, neither puts up any fight, willingly submitting to their captors wishes. Aside from wanting to see them struggle and resist, their instant willingness to obey serves to pull me out from the story. If I were kidnapped, would I instantly obey an unarmed assailent simply because I have a loose chain collar around my neck? Similarly, when left alone in a room with use of your fingers, would you not simply remove the gag from your mouth? Even if can't be pushed out with your tongue (which it probably could have been), tt's not locked in place, so whay not just unbuckle it? And slip your wrists out of your wrist cuffs while you're at it.

One my major criticisms is the price point. The movie is priced at $29.95, which is a bit steep in my opinion. I understand that the video targets a limited niche audience, so I can understand the logic behind setting the price. Nevertheless, I think it would be much more reasonable at $14.95 - $19.95. A price of $29.95 is a bit of a turn off. Not because the movie isn't worth it - I actually think it is more than worth it - but rather because a $29.95 video screams "old school porno", while $19.95 says high production quality movie. Paradoxically, I think they're selling themselves short by charging an extra $10. I don't know the economics of pricing porn so I could be way off base, but I know when I'm looking to buy a movie, porn or otherwise, I'll generally shy away from things priced outside the $10 - $20 range, either above or below (unless of course it's free) becuase those are the conventional prices and anything outside that range makes step back and think, "what's going on here? Why is this over (under) priced?".

I'm glad that I found this movie, and I'm happy with the product I received, but I do believe this would be better priced about $10 less for the reasons outlined above. However, I'm not removing any stars for the price point since, in my opinion, it is worth what they are charging. I am however, dropping my rating by one star because the way the characters behave is not consistent with the plot. Moreover, the degree of bondage seems unrealistically light given the plot's contention that the ponies are being held against their will. This mismatch between behavior and plot makes a bit unbeliable and detracts from what would otherwise be a nearly perfect ponygirl flick.

My overall rating is 4 out of 5 sugar cubes for the Pony 2 Girl movie by Elegance Studios.
